Healthcare Assistant - Independent Living Hubs

£11.44 - £11.58 per hour Pension, Full Training
 

Job Description

We are currently expanding and require committed staff who are looking for flexible work around current commitments.

If you're friendly, approachable, empathetic towards others and have the drive to go the extra mile, we are looking for you.

Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given although we welcome applications from experienced carers.

First City Care Group have a fantastic vacancy for a healthcare assistant within our independent living hubs in and around Swindon. We are looking for committed staff to embrace our company ethos and values and provide excellent standards of care to our clients. You will be visiting clients in their own homes within an Independent living Hub during the weekends performing duties such as:

  • Assisting with personal care
  • Administering medication
  • Helping service users with their morning and evening routines
  • Preparing meals
  • Light domestic tasks

There will also be other individual requirements outlined in each person-centred support plan as well as promoting independence

Location: Swindon, Wroughton, Highworth

Hours Available: Bank

Shift Times Can Include: Morning 7am-2:30pm - Evening 2:30pm-10:30/11:00pm - Nights 8:00pm-7am

To be a healthcare assistant, you'll need to be:

  • Trustworthy
  • Cheerful and friendly
  • Willing to be hands-on with customers
  • Willing to do personal care tasks (washing, toileting, etc)
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Able to work in a team but use their own initiative

A driving licence is not required for this position, however the successful candidate will need to arrange their own transport for shifts starting at 7am or finishing at 10:30/11pm in and around the Swindon area, including Highworth and Wroughton.

    • Provide support with all aspects of their daily lives and encouraging them to engage with positive activities
    • Thinking outside the box for activities planning ahead of the visit with the child
    • Working with children to gain their independence skills both within the home and community
    • Working with children to meet their individual outcomes
    • Be able to write clear daily reports, incident reports and accident reports.
    • Administer medication as required (full training will be provided).
    • Support with personal care (washing, toileting, etc)
    • Be part of a team of professionals delivering high quality person-centred care, led by an experienced management team.
    • Assist in the increase of support during Half terms and Holidays
